Overview of the Application Process

Applying for Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is designed to be straightforward. Maharashtra has set up both online and offline channels so that women across urban and rural areas can register without difficulty. This guide walks you through both methods.

Method 1: Applying Online via the Official Portal

The Maharashtra government has made the application available through its official digital portal. Here's how to do it:

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to the official Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana portal provided by the Maharashtra government (nari.maharashtra.gov.in or the designated Aaple Sarkar portal).
  2. Register / Log In: New users need to register with their mobile number linked to Aadhaar. Existing users can log in directly.
  3. Fill the Application Form: Enter your personal details — name, date of birth, Aadhaar number, address, income details, and bank account information.
  4. Upload Documents: Scan and upload the required documents including Aadhaar card, income certificate, domicile certificate, bank passbook, and a passport-size photo.
  5. Submit and Save Your Application ID: After submission, you will receive an Application Reference Number. Save or note this down — it is needed to track your application status.

Method 2: Applying Offline at Anganwadi / Gram Panchayat

Women who are not comfortable applying online can visit the following centres:

  • Anganwadi Centres — the Anganwadi Sevika can assist with the form
  • Gram Panchayat Office — for rural applicants
  • Ward Office / Municipal Corporation Office — for urban applicants
  • Seva Kendra / Aaple Sarkar Service Centres

Steps for Offline Application

  1. Collect the application form from your nearest Anganwadi centre or government office.
  2. Fill in all required fields carefully in capital letters.
  3. Attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents.
  4. Submit the form at the designated counter and collect an acknowledgement slip.

Important Tips Before Applying

  • Ensure your Aadhaar is linked to your active bank account before applying.
  • Make sure your mobile number is registered with Aadhaar for OTP verification.
  • Double-check your date of birth on documents — discrepancies cause rejection.
  • Keep photocopies of all submitted documents for your own records.

What Happens After You Apply?

Once the application is submitted, it goes through a verification process by local authorities. Upon successful verification, the beneficiary's name is added to the approved list and the monthly ₹1,500 transfer begins from the next eligible payment cycle. You can track your application status using the reference number on the official portal.
